Pricing Overview

Websites can range from as little as $150 and go all the way up to several thousand dollars, depending on your budget, the overall size and the features you want on your website. Honestly, there is no way to give an estimate without knowing what you need or want in a website. If you were to ask somebody, "How much does a car cost?" You would ask, "What kind of car?". A used Toyota costs $5,000. A Rolls Royce costs $250,000. The analogy is the same.

A simple web site will basically be what we call a "Business Card" website. It would consist of a main page with your own logo/photos, an informational page and a page with contact information with a link to your email address or an online contact form. Basically 3-4 pages. Simple websites like this can be completed within 24-48 hours, depending on my current workload.

Complete new websites and website re-design projects are usually quoted with a definitive completed price. Initial quotations will include a price range. Unless otherwise stated, you will receive a definite price before you or we commit to anything, and before any work is begun on your project. This way you will know exactly what your website will cost, without any surprises. There will be cases where the completed price cannot be determined until the development has begun, but you will be notified if this is the case.

Here are some determining factors that will define the final quote.

• How many pages do you need?
• Will the website be static or dynamic? (unchanging or interactive)
• Are there going to be regular changes to the website?
• Do you have your own artwork?
• Do you have the content or will we provide the content?
• How complex is the website?
• Will you be selling items online?
• Are you able to add/remove/update items in your online store or will you have us do it?
• Is search engine positioning imperative to your website?
• Will you be depending on us to market and drive traffic to your website?

Here are a few things that can increase the cost of your website:

• Shopping Cart System
  • Shopping carts can be time consuming to customize. Not hard to do, but time consuming. Once the customizing is finished the items need to be added. The more items you have to sell, the more time it takes to "stock" the store. If items are changing or need updating this will add to the maintenance cost as well. Shopping carts are free, but they do need to be installed and configured, even if you only want a "generic" looking site.
• Detailed attention to search engine positioning
  • Sometimes a website does not depend on search engines and extensive traffic to serve their purpose. A company may simply desire a website to inform and communicate with its current customers. If this is the case, much time and therefore, expense to you, can be saved by not spending a lot of time doing this. The basic meta tags and standard tricks for helping with search engine placement will always be implimented, but extensive placement strageties can be ommitted. Search engine submission is performed on your websites regardless. Regular SEO (Search Engine Optimization) must be performed in order to maintain a decent ranking. This may be included in your maintenance agreement but is not included in a standard web design project.

Website Maintenance

My standard hourly rate is $30 per hour. This rate applies to website maintenance. Maintenance includes updates and changes we make to your website at your request. If you will require regular or frequent updates we may negotiate a flat fee based on the estimated amount of time it will take to perform the maintenance.

Website Hosting

Website Hosting will be provided free of charge for the first 6 months after we complete your website. After six months we can continue to host your website for a nominal fee of $3.00 per month. We will provide web hosting for free as long as we are performing regular maintenance on your website.
